DANIEL DEL COLLO, III concentrates his practice in the areas of Estate Planning, Estate Administration and Elder Law, including the drafting of Wills, Trusts (and Special Needs), Guardianships, Medicaid Planning, Powers of Attorneys and Advanced Medical Directives. Dan’s Elder Law clients also call upon him to handle Personal Injury, Real Estate and Business Law matters.

Dan is an active member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Elder and Disability Law Committee as well as the Probate and Trust Committees for the Camden and Burlington County Bar Associations.

Dan’s legal career began as an associate attorney at Princeton New Jersey powerhouse law firm, Reed Smith, LLP. There, Dan’s outstanding attorney mentors provided him with the tools for delivering exceptional client service while retaining the core values of dignity, respect and integrity.

Most recently, before launching his own law practice, Dan worked at an award-winning high volume Estate Planning and Elder Law firm in Southern New Jersey. There, Dan provided counsel to individuals and families (ranging from pro-bono to high net worth) regarding Wills, Trusts, asset protection, Guardianships, tax issues and Medicaid Planning, including financial planning for those with special needs. Dan also provided counsel to individuals and families with loved ones suffering from varying types (and degrees) of dementia such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Huntington’s and other neurological diseases.

Since 2016, Dan has been recognized by New Jersey Super Lawyers as a Rising Star in Elder Law (2015, 2016 & 2017), which is a peer-reviewed honor awarded to less than 2.5% of practicing attorneys in New Jersey. Additionally, Dan’s AVVO rating of “Superb” is the highest level of recognition given to attorneys by the lawyer ranking organization. During his prior career as a magazine editor, Dan was nominated for two (2) Jesse H. Neal Awards for editorial excellence in business (1998).

Dan performs numerous hours of pro-bono legal work, including serving as a volunteer attorney for Wills for Heroes, which is a program that provides essential legal documents free of charge to New Jersey’s first responders (police officers or EMTs), including Wills, Living Wills, and Powers of Attorneys.

Dan graduated from Rutgers School of Law – Camden (Evening Program) while also working full-time during the day at GlaxoSmithKline in Philadelphia, Pa. At Rutgers, Dan earned Deans List Honors, was recognized as a top Moot Court competitor and he also served as a board member of the Advanced Moot Court program.

Prior to law school, Dan graduated from Haverford College in Haverford, Pa. At Haverford, he led the new student orientation program and he captained Haverford’s intercollegiate sailing team. Dan was also awarded the Jonathan Mohrig ’86 Memorial Prize, which is given by the Students’ Council to the student that best contributes to the quality of life at Haverford (1996).

Dan grew up in Moorestown, New Jersey and he currently lives there with his wife and children.
